Six days and 600 nautical miles without interruption in the waters of the Aegean Sea. The sea of Homer, myths, and legends.
The AEGEAN 600 is a prestigious offshore sailing race held annually in the Aegean Sea. Organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) and supported by the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the regatta covers a distance of 600 nautical miles (approximately 1,111 km) without interruption, passing through some of the most beautiful and historically significant islands in the region, such as Mykonos, Santorini, Kassos, Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Patmos, and Delos.
A regatta created by sailors for sailors, in which crews of different nationalities compete and challenge each other every year. In the summer of 2025, at the start line in Homer's sanctuary, in front of the columns of the temple of Poseidon, and with the blessing of the mythical god of the sea, 59 different boats with crews from a total of 18 nationalities set sail.
A mythical odyssey with an uncertain outcome, in which not everyone finishes (in 2025, 45 boats finished), and over the years of the various editions, serious accidents have been recorded, some with fatal consequences. But not for the two Bulgarian crews who left a lasting Bulgarian mark on this year's regatta: boat X-41 Raffica, SK "Wind and Water" with a mixed crew and skipper Nencho Anastasov, which won second place in its class, and the boat Tiamat with the first all-female Bulgarian sailing team.
We have invited the girls from Time to Dare to the event. They became the first and only all-female sailing team in the history of the prestigious international regatta to successfully complete it, and the first winners of the special Hera Award, awarded to the most feminine crew in memory of Ganna Kononchuk, established after her death in 2024.
In a sea of opportunities traditionally dominated by men, ten women come together to show that courage also has a female face. They are of different ages and have diverse professions, most of which have nothing to do with the sea. Their sailing experience also varies: some of them have over 30 years of sailing experience, while others have only recently discovered the sport. What they have in common is their love of the wind, freedom, and the desire to prove that there are no "male" and "female" directions—there are only horizons waiting to be reached.
