In Gora shows the story of a family of modern nomads embarking on a long-distance journey with a bunch of professional riders, but it is also a documentary with social dimensions, exploring environmental issues. The motivation of a family with strong environmental values, together with that of a group of freeriders dedicated to the preservation of the mountains, are a perfect opportunity to put some pressing issues in the Balkans on the agenda, among them the WWF's Pirin campaign.
Aboard a former American school bus, converted entirely into a modern eco camper, modern nomads Tim and Val, along with skiers and snowboarders, chase powder on their way and pass through Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Montenegro. Their experiences are far beyond the everyday life of the regular freerider, not least because of the inspiring encounters with locals in the different countries.
*In Gora - the name of the film comes from GORA in Cyrillic, but the meaning of the word is much more than a simple translation, say the filmmakers. This spiritual word refers to the energy released from nature and connects to the person who cares about it.
