We are thrilled to present the host of the November edition of the Days of Challenges festival – Emilia Zafiraki.
A journalist, writer, and organizational consultant, Emilia is a person who combines the curiosity of a traveler, the inspiration of a storyteller, and the dedication of an activist. Her work in the non-governmental sector is related to causes that touch us all – freedom of speech, education, nature conservation and ecology.
She describes herself as a dreamer and a seeker of stories about people who rarely stand in the spotlight but whose actions change the world around them. It is this aspiration that leads her to new encounters and travels across Asia, Africa, and South America, and her experiences find their way into her articles for Dnevnik, Capital, Club Z, and her special column in InGlobo magazine, "There Are People."
The mountains are her home for most of the year—climbing, hiking, and skiing bring her freedom and new horizons. The sea is also her passion, and sailing is the latest adventure to conquer her. As an author, she combines imagination and science in her children's books "The Adventures of Vitan the Frog" and "Betty and Letty," through which children learn about nature in a fun and memorable way.
Emilia already knows the Days audience from the stage. We believe that she will bring some of her energy, curiosity, and ability to connect people and ideas, thus helping to unite and inspire our community to reach new horizons.
