The competition “Hut of the Year” is held for the second consecutive year on the initiative of the mountain portal planinar.org and the magazine for extreme sports, leisure and alternative lifestyle 360°.
In the first stage of the contest, visitors could suggest up to three huts and shelters in the mountains, as well as give their comments on the places of shelter. The number of suggestions determined which were the ten lodges going forward to the second stage. The first stage involved 607 users who gave their suggestions for up to three huts worthy of receiving the accolade.
The second phase starts in early July. In it, everyone could vote for their favourites among the ten finalists, rating them on a six-point scale for views and nearby attractions; infrastructure, accommodation and maintenance; food and drink; attitude of the hut keepers; and prices, respectively. Each of the ten finalists could only be evaluated once.
The hut with the most votes will be announced during the Challenge Days festival.
