36 hours of running, 55 hours of running, tightening the belts, getting up from the chairs... In less than a year, ultramarathoner Krasi Georgiev showed us in so many ways that running is not just a sport, but a way to send important messages and change lives. In January, he ran for 36 hours on a treadmill in a metropolitan mall, raising funds for sports camps for children with cancer. The original campaign attracted huge public and media interest, as well as quite a few donations. Through it, the message that big goals can be achieved with more perseverance and sport reached many people. Because 36 hours seemed to be not enough, at the end of September Krasi made a new challenge to himself and all those who support him with the same cause - this time the hours were even more - 55, and the place - Plovdiv. With his two campaigns he managed to help many children fighting a serious illness to continue to win, not only against the disease, but also in sport. The ultramarathoner managed to involve many people in his cause, motivating them to play sports and help. Another important cause that Krasi stood behind is related to people “anchored” in front of computers. He is one of the initiators of the new program “Chair UP” to “move” offices. It was launched in May with its pilot edition “Fasten Seat Belt” in a business centre with more than 2 400 employees who were motivated to start moving more and not just anywhere, at their workplace. The initiative has already won an award and been recognised as one of the most innovative ideas of the year and work is continuing. Krasi's mission to motivate more and more people to make positive changes in their lives by moving towards movement and healthy living continues.
