In the summer of 2015, four Bulgarian amateur athletes took part in an unconventional challenge - to cover the 682 km of the Danube Ultra cycling route alternating between running and cycling. For this purpose they had to run 40 kilometres and cycle the remaining 642 kilometres - all within only 48 hours. The event sparked the interest of national and local media with its cause - promoting the Danube region and cycling tourism in the country.
About the campaign:
Danube Ultra 3: River Monsters is the third campaign in support of the Danube Ultra cycle route. The campaigns started in 2014, initially as a personal challenge, but has since grown into a cause that has found wide resonance and inspired hundreds who believe in the potential for cycling tourism along the Danube.

This year's challenge will be presented by the creator of the bike route Boris Begumov, the photographer Anastas Turpanov, who documented the ordeal in footage, the director of the film Trayan Velev and Radost Peneva - coordinator of the campaign Danube Ultra 3: River Monsters.
