At the fifth edition of the Days our special guest was the famous German climber Kurt Albert. He made two very interesting presentations.
Kurt ALBERT DIED - Kurt Albert sadly left this world on September 28 after an 18 meter fall on the via ferrata in Germany and a 3-day stay in hospital.
We will remember Kurt for his smile, his engaging stories and his fresh sense of humor. We are honored that he was our guest! Rest in peace, Kurt!

Traditionally, the most significant Bulgarian alpine, caving and cycling expeditions in 2009 were presented. The audience met Petya Kolcheva - the first Bulgarian woman who climbed Everest. Petya and her husband Kamen told about their peripeteia on the way to the top of the planet.
The different dimension of friendship and the mountain was also presented with footage from the film "Shared Peaks" about the ascent of Mont Blanc by Ivan Kozhuharov and friends. The Bulgarian national ice climbing team made a presentation about their achievements in international competitions. There were also 2 films about bouldering in Bulgaria and Fontainebleau - France.
Boyan Petrov's presentations about his climbs in Karakoram of Gasherbrum I (8080m) and Gasherbrum II (8035m), as well as about the conquest of the highest peaks of Africa - Kilimanjaro (5895), Mount Kenya (5199) and Ruwenzori (5109) aroused great interest. Another story took us to Africa - the one-month bicycle trip through Kenya and Tanzania, made by Vasil Todev and Boris Petrov.
We were led to the beauties of the underground world by the Ruse speleologist Teodor Kisimov, who told us about his stay in "Snezhna" - the second most difficult and accessible cave in the world.
The audience also saw interesting films presenting the challenges of paragliding, kayaking in fast waters, skiing in virgin snow, and immersing oneself in the silence and mystique of the desert.
During the event was also presented the calendar of the Odyssey-in Agency, the sale of which aims to raise funds for the transformation of Echo hut into a cozy mountain home. The publication consists of 132 pages, over 70 photos from Bulgaria united by the theme "With the rhythm of nature". The price of the notebook is 10 BGN, 5 of them were given to the Echo hut in the Central Balkan Mountains.
Crystal French
The fringe is a symbol of an aspiration, of a special relationship between man and nature, of friendship. The famous Bulgarian mountaineer Petar Malov ("the iron Pepi") made and engraved two unique frends of solid crystal glass. The first winners of this very special award were the traveller and cyclist Ivan Penchev for his film "With wheels on the roof" in 2008 and Petya Kolcheva for her climb of Mt. She was the winner of the first prize for her petition for climbing Mount Everest.
